The Boochy Story
Boochy Mama’s Kombucha was created out of a passion for creating with herbs, a curiosity for the magic of fermentation, and the admiration of the holistic lifestyle and health benefits kombucha offers. Our company is guided by inspiration, our community, and Mother Earth. LOVE YOUR MAMA. ®
When Toledo native Stacy Jurich started Boochy Mama’s Kombucha in January 2015, her mission was to brew well-balanced, nature-inspired tonics that could make her community a healthier, happier place. Years before, while residing in a remote, sustainable eco-village in Hawaii, she’d learned how to authentically brew kombucha. Intrigued by its magical fermentation process and transformative health benefits, Stacy continued brewing back in Toledo. Before long, she was delivering kombucha by bicycle to friends old and new, and her grassroots business was organically underway.
“Boochy Mama’s is inspired by the beauty, essence & magic of the forest.”
- Stacy J, Founder

Good work is grassroots.
There’s no motivation like a Midwest Mama’s.
That’s just how things get done here in Toledo, Ohio. The Booch Crew is comprised of activists and advocates of grassroots, community-level efforts that bring about social and environmental change.
We’re Great Lakes Proud.
Our responsibility as citizens of the Great Lakes Region is to protect this amazing natural resource, 1/5 of the world’s freshwater supply. As part of our Eco-Boochy initiative, we donate 1% of profits to grassroots Great Lakes advocacy organizations.
ECO-BOOCHY!
Going green’ isn’t just a buzzword for us. It means understanding that everything’s interconnected, like our ecological community and economy — our ecos, our home. Kombucha teaches us about balance, and helping our ecos thrive. And that’s what we intend to do.
Our woman-owned, eco-conscious, socially minded business prioritizes:
Reducing waste
Composting
Strategic sourcing
Intentional decision making
OUR PROCESS
Good Kombucha starts with (amazing) tea.
Our authentic, artisanal Boochy begins as tea, brewed with organic sencha and organic black tea leaves, and organic cane sugar. A health drink with sugar? Yes…the living Mother cultures (the bacteria + yeast aka SCOBY) converts all of the sugar into acetic acids (probiotics!) …it’s fermentation magic!
We create our perfectly balanced flavors using divine blends of organic botanicals. Brewing kombucha is truly a wondrous, dynamic and inspiring process, and the final product is just as magical.
Flowers + Herbs create uniquely delicious
and well-balanced Boochy.
The mystical splendor of herbs and plants has been at the core of inspiration to our business since the beginning. Life is too short for boring flavors and repeating palates! We’re humbled by the centuries-old, curious process of natural fermentation and the rich history of herbal medicine.
We ensure consistency and quality of our botanical blends of kombucha with careful attention to ingredients and the wondrous, wild process.
The result? A healthy, happy, holistic beverage that offers you vigor and balance.
Brewing a healthy ecosystem of powerful probiotics
for your impressive (and important!) gut biome.
Making kombucha is what we love, of course — but it’s also the perfect example of nature’s lesson that good things take time. Cultivation is a craft that requires commitment and care.
True to traditional brewing methods, we brew with SCOBYs (Symbiotic Culture Of Bacteria and Yeast), allowing billions of living probiotics in every batch. Our SCOBYs are well cared for, and are super happy and bubbly in their special 78 degree fermentation room.
